A red wine from the Beira Interior region, produced at the Martir and Devesa estates in Penamacor. Planted with local varieties – Rufete (also known locally as Penamacor), Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro – with particular emphasis on Rufete, which accounts for more than half of the vineyard. “It is our mission that drives us, the humanist force that guides the investment and development of the PINA FERRAZ Foundation. This includes the revival of the historic wine production associated with the Francisco de Pina Ferraz estate since 1884 (Real Tapada da Ajuda Agricultural Exhibition, with red and white wines suitable for the French market); followed by Berlin in 1888 at the Exhibition of Portuguese Wines; in the same year at the Portuguese Industrial Exhibition in Lisbon (copper medal); and in 1889 at the Paris Exposition, where it was awarded a bronze medal in the wine category. In tribute, the PINA FERRAZ Foundation has invested in traditional vineyards, with a particular focus on Rufete, as well as Touriga Nacional, whose 2019 harvest gives structure to this PINA FERRAZ Colheita we now bring to you.”
