Barroca da Malhada is a historic estate located in Beira Interior, the most mountainous region of Portugal. Once belonging to the Viscounts of Tinalhas, its origins trace back to the Middle Ages. With 5 hectares of vineyards planted on clay-sandy soils, the estate produces artisanal wines through low-intervention winemaking, organic vineyard management and biodynamic practices. This Arinto underwent a distinctive amphora maceration during fermentation, spending one month on the grape skins. It then continued ageing for a further 7 months in the same 300-litre amphora.

Tasting Notes
Straw-yellow in colour – a clear reflection of both maceration and ageing – this is a white wine that sits firmly “outside the box”. On the nose, a perfumed profile emerges: notes of honey, dried flowers and a touch of citrus, contrasted by earthy and herbal nuances that immediately evoke the essence of the talha, the traditional clay vessel in which it was made.
The palate shows persistent acidity and remarkable gastronomic versatility, with structure and even a hint of tannin. The flavours on the palate faithfully echo everything perceived on the nose.
