The Almeida Garrett family built their winery in 1856 in Tortosendo and has been producing quality wine ever since. With the advent of the Republic in the early 20th century, the family emigrated to France and, upon their return, planted the first Chardonnay vines in the region – a variety that has since become emblematic of the family estate. Over the years, the estate has diversified its agricultural production and is today the oldest producer in the region, with around 44 ha of vineyards, now managed by the 4th and 5th generations of the family. VINIFICATION Grapes are hand-harvested into 18 kg crates, fully destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. This is followed by a long maceration and gentle pressing. Malolactic fermentation carried out in used French oak barrels Aged for 18 months in used French oak barrels

It reveals a rich nose of red fruit, spices and a subtle menthol note.

On the palate, it shows a fine balance: the tannins display some firmness yet remain well integrated with the oak and the fruit, supported by a refreshing acidity that brings lift and definition.
