Barroca da Malhada is a historic estate located in Beira Interior, the most mountainous region of Portugal. Once belonging to the Viscounts of Tinalhas, its origins trace back to the Middle Ages. With 5 hectares of vineyards planted on clay-sandy soils, the estate produces artisanal wines through low-intervention winemaking, organic vineyard management and biodynamic practices. Artisanal wine, hand-harvested, with spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention in the winery. Aged in stainless steel tanks and second-use Portuguese chestnut barrels. No added sulphites; instead, chestnut-flower powder was used as a natural preservative and antioxidant.
