Deep ruby colour. On the nose, it reveals notes of red fruits and wild herbs. Full-bodied on the palate, with velvety tannins and a pleasant freshness characteristic of the natural acidity of Cova da Beira wines; the bouquet is striking and complex, with perfectly integrated oak notes. Mediterranean climate with some continental influence. Litholic, non-humic soils of fine-grained granite.
Sourced from the ‘beehive’ vineyard plot, where the vines grow in an environment of immaculate purity and the bees busily work to produce honey from Alfrocheiro flowers.
Hand-harvested into 15 kg crates. On-arrival processing involves complete destemming and gentle crushing, followed by prolonged maceration. Aged in new and used French oak barrels, with natural clarification aided by the biting cold of the Serra da Estrela.
