The vineyards, located at a unique altitude (700-750 metres), bring together the region’s characteristic varieties and comprise three plots with distinct profiles: Alvandeira, with clay-loam soils; Souto, with transitional granite-schist soils; and Lameiras, with granite and quartz. Organic production, a <em>terroir</em> steeped in history, and the setting between the Douro, Côa and Águeda rivers give the wines from this estate a truly unique profile. Fresh grapes harvested at optimal ripeness are selected from old vines, hand-picked into 20 kg crates, and taken to the winery where they are whole-cluster pressed in a pneumatic press. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by 8 months of ageing in French oak barrels with weekly <em>bâttonage</em>.

A delicate onion-skin hue in the glass. Very fine aromas of red berries (redcurrant and raspberry), toffee, mint and flint. On the palate, it is delicate yet generous, in harmony with lively, refreshing acidity.

Serve at 10-12 °C.
