Domínios do Interior - Quinta da Biaia

The desire to create a reference wine project for organic wines brought together childhood friends Carlos Flor and Ricardo Lopes Ferro, both heirs of the lands of Biaia (17th century), with winemaker Luís Leocádio allowing the realization of a dream, common to the three. The project was joined by Horácio Nunes, an unavoidable figure due to his taste in enology and viticulture in the region. Quinta da Biaia is located between Serra da Marofa and the historic village of Castelo Rodrigo, on these slopes are our vineyards. On the other hand, it constitutes a natural barrier that protects it from sea winds, enhancing the desired thermal amplitudes that give rise to wines strongly influenced by altitude and the harsh climate (cold, thermal amplitudes, low precipitation, high sunshine). Organic production, its terroir steeped in history, as well as the framing of the Douro, Côa and Águeda rivers, give a unique profile to the wines from this property.
