Quinta de São Lourenço lies within the Serra da Estrela Natural Park and has been producing wine for more than 60 years. In Aldeia Viçosa, in the municipality of Guarda, 12 hectares of vineyards thrive under strong mountain influence, planted on a north–south orientation at altitudes between 480 and 520 metres. The estate’s organically farmed vineyards sit on the left bank of the Mondego River, on an east-facing slope, planted in granitic soils. They are set in a continental climate marked by large annual and diurnal temperature variations, with an average annual rainfall of 1,250 mm. In the winery, we follow a philosophy of minimal intervention, using indigenous yeasts and no external additions, in order to respect the natural character of our grapes. 2021 was considered a cool vintage. A rainy winter brought significant snowfall in the Serra da Estrela. Spring and summer were mild, resulting in grapes with excellent acidity and elegant ripening
