An authentic "<em>terroir</em>" wine made from old vines aged between 60 and over 100 years, in a field blend of red varieties – mainly Rufete, Baga and Folha Figueira – planted on 650-metre slopes in poor granitic-sand soils. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with temperature control for two weeks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged in French oak until bottling in the spring of 2015, followed by light filtration. Aged a further two years in bottle.

Intense colour, with a complex aroma of ripe fruits and nuances of rockrose, pine and dried herbs. Smooth tannins and a long finish. Suitable for ageing for several years.

Gastronomy & Service: Ideal serving temperature: 16-18 °C, pairing well with red meats, stews and roasts.
