O The president of the Beira Interior Regional Wine Commission, which covers the district of Castelo Branco, was recently elected in Estremoz.

The president of the Beira Interior Regional Wine Commission, which covers the district of Castelo Branco, was recently elected in Estremoz, and will hold the position until 2029.

There was only one slate running and it was elected unanimously.

The new president sets out the main objectives as "giving the association new momentum, continuing and consolidating the initiatives already undertaken and, above all, creating new dynamics and identifying new solutions and forms of financing."

The Associação das Rotas dos Vinhos de Portugal was created in 2014 by the Associação de Municípios Portugueses do Vinho (Portuguese Association of Wine Municipalities) with the aim of “fostering quality wine tourism through the integrated promotion of the Wine Routes.”
