Revista Vinhos has named “Beira Interior Wine Villages” the “Best Wine Tourism Project in Portugal”

The “Beira Interior Wine Villages” project won the “Best Wine Tourism Project in Portugal” award, presented by Revista Vinhos, which “praised the project’s excellence in promoting the region through an approach that uses wine as a guiding thread to reveal the historical, cultural and natural heritage of Beira Interior.”
“By linking high-altitude wines to the territory, the project created an integrated offer involving producers, accommodation and local restaurants,” explained the Beira Interior Regional Wine Commission (CVRBI) in a press release, adding that “the distinction rewards the project’s ability to create itineraries that highlight the unique profile of the region’s wines and weave it together with local culture, know-how and endogenous products.” “Beira Interior Wine Villages” is the result of a strategic partnership between the CVRBI and the intermunicipal communities of Beira Baixa and of Beiras e Serra da Estrela.
In the words of Rodolfo Queirós, president of the CVRBI, quoted in the same press release, “this award confirms that Beira Interior has is no longer just a promise but a recognised presence in national wine tourism.” He added that “we have shown that the authenticity of our people, the beauty of our heritage and the quality of our wines are first-class tourism assets, capable of boosting the region and its local economy.”
